About the venue

Half a century on the Magadino plain.

From 14:00 the engines start on the Magadino plain, the flat valley floor between Locarno and Bellinzona. Go-Kart Locarno-Magadino has been running karts here for half a century and marked its 50th anniversary in 2026 with a festival day on the track and a kids' day for families.

Adult rental karts have 270 cc four-stroke engines with 9 hp and reach 70 km/h. They are for drivers from age 14, sessions last 10 minutes, and helmet, under-helmet cap and lap timing are included.

Children aged 8 to 13 who are at least 1.30 m tall drive Minikarts, with 97 cc engines and a 40 km/h top speed, in their own sessions without adult karts: Wednesdays and Sundays from 14:00 to 15:00, plus extra mornings in the school holidays.

Groups of eight or more adults can book in the morning or at midday, up to a full Grand Prix with two timed qualifying sessions and a 14-lap race. Racers can book a box and run their own karts, and the track has its own series: the Rental Kart Trophy for rental drivers and the Locarno Kart Master for competition karts.

Between sessions there are tables and benches, cold drinks and a barbecue area, with free parking on site. The track is about 15 minutes by car from Locarno and 20 from Bellinzona, and Ticino Ticket holders get a discount.
