After years of waiting, Tesla’s elusive hypercar may finally be on its way.
New Tesla Roadster: Coming in 2025 (Hopefully)
The highly anticipated Tesla Roadster has been a long time coming. Originally revealed in 2017 with plans for a 2020 release, it’s faced multiple delays as Tesla prioritized its mission to advance sustainable energy. But now, Elon Musk has shared a glimmer of hope for those who put down a £38,000 deposit for this high-performance EV.
During Tesla’s Q3 earnings call, Musk thanked “long-suffering” deposit holders and gave a much-needed update, explaining, “It’s not just the icing on the cake; it’s the cherry on top.” Tesla’s primary focus has been on products that drive sustainability, but Musk assured listeners that the final Roadster design is nearly complete. If all goes to plan, it should hit the roads by 2025.
New Tesla Roadster Performance
The Roadster promises incredible performance. Initial specs boasted a 0-60 mph time of under 1.9 seconds and a top speed of 250 mph. But Musk recently hinted at pushing things even further. With an optional “Rocket Thruster” package from SpaceX tech, Tesla claims it can achieve a sub-1.0 second 0-60 mph time. Yes, you read that right – rockets.
Tesla Roadster Design and Features
The Roadster’s sleek, aerodynamic design has stood the test of time. Inspired updates like pointy headlights and a muscular front end now grace the new Tesla Model 3, giving it a sharp, sporty look. Expect a spacious interior with seating for four, a removable hardtop, and Tesla’s signature minimalist approach, including a central screen and yoke-style steering.
Tesla fans can still secure their Roadster spot with a £4,000 deposit in the UK, with an additional £34,000 due in 10 days. While final pricing and production dates remain unknown, the promise of this all-electric supercar has deposit holders hanging on for the ride.
