Circuit

Anneau du Rhin

Biltzheim • France

North-east France's largest circuit, in the Alsace forest 45 minutes from Basel. Book a track day, a driving course or road safety training.

About the venue

A hunting estate turned race track.

The Anneau du Rhin sits on a former hunting estate in the Alsace forest, a short drive from the Rhine. Behind the trees are up to 4 km of tarmac, a pit lane with 43 boxes and a skid pad.

Marc Rinaldi opened the circuit at Biltzheim in 1996, and his son François Rinaldi runs it today. FIA Grade 3 homologated, it is the largest car and motorbike circuit in north-eastern France, with layouts from a 1.1 km training loop to 3.0 km and 3.7 km competition circuits and the 4.0 km leisure circuit. In 2022 it hosted the FIA World Touring Car Cup's Race of Alsace Grand Est.

Most days belong to drivers rather than spectators: track days for cars and motorbikes, driving courses, a youth driver academy, team-building events and road safety training on dedicated tracks with a skid pad, a tyre-blowout simulator, an obstacle avoidance course and a 4x4 off-road course. There is a karting circuit too.

On race weekends the competition paddock holds up to 300 vans, and major events draw more than 12,000 spectators. Around 50,000 people visit every year for sprint and endurance races, slaloms, time attacks and drift events.

The Anneau du Rhin is in Biltzheim, Haut-Rhin, about 20 minutes from Colmar, half an hour from Mulhouse, 45 minutes from Basel and under two hours from Zurich by car.
